Smart Dementia Village Featured

(1 Vote)

With ageing population, the incidence of cognitive impairment and dementia is on the rise. Caring of Older Adults with dementia can be daunting and frustrating for families, since not many will be prepared for such complex work prior to the need.

Many caregivers are left burnout, others have guilty feelings that they had not done enough to support their loved ones on their last leg of the journey in life. Work on Dementia prevention, support and services has been on the rise in the past 30 years.  Dementia villages have been started all over the world, first in Europe, then to Asia in the past 5 years.

In this issue, Lotus Eldercare will showcase and recommend some of the existing technologies using A.I. and M.L. to aid in the day to day care of an Older Adult with dementia.

Dementia has various stages and each stage will come with its own unique challenges to the family or service providers. Care should be extremely customised for each individual. Unfortunately, most of the current housing and support service providers may not be so familiar with such practices. Most are meant for the mass market and thus the process can be quite standardised and not customised to the individual.

We hope to share some of our ideas from our international exposure and our local on the ground knowledge from daily interactions with caregivers on this issue.

We sincerely hope all Older Adults with Dementia can live peacefully and blissfully, ageing gracefully to the great beyond.

In this FREE issue, our thoughts on how a Smart Dementia Village in a Smart Nation can look like. Do e mail us at  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  for your copy today!
